SAFEGUARDING POLICY
At Action Youth Boxing Intervention, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the
welfare of all children. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and the best interests of the
child must always come first.
Safeguarding means:
-
Protecting children from maltreatment.
-
Preventing impairment of children’s health or development.
-
Ensuring children grow up in circumstances consistent with safe and effective care.
-
Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
All staff must:
-
Be alert to the signs of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
-
Know how to respond if they have concerns about a child’s welfare.
-
Never assume someone else will take action.
-
Report concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (Roxanna)
-
Take urgent action if a child is in immediate danger, including contacting the police or
children’s social care.
We recognise the four main categories of abuse: physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual
abuse, and neglect, as well as wider safeguarding issues such as child exploitation, online
safety, and mental health.
Every member of staff plays a vital role in keeping children safe, and safeguarding is at the
heart of everything we do.
